the main idea of this blog is to show you how to keep your computer safe and clean:
BROWSER;
try firefox. then install the Add-on named Redirect Cleaner. After that get Add-ons named Better Privacy and if that's not enuff get one named Ad-Block Plus. those tools combined will keep you on the rite page and will help prevent harmful Ad scripts and tracking problems from happening at their source. use Mozilla site, only download tools that you know are legitimate.
VIRUS;
Get Malwarebytes Anti-malware free for your basic scans and cleans, and get Microsoft security Essentials for your full time virus/spyware protection, both are free and work very well. Microsoft Security Essentials is a light weight product that won't slow you down. it updates and scans on a schedule if you set it to do so and it is a double edged sword for protection, it operates as anti-virus and anti-spyware both combined. you will not need two separate products anymore to keep "baddies" out of your computer. then kick some virus ass! run virus scan on all the downloads you ever click before you install them!  after installing them, run full scan again in your computer's Safe Mode, disconnect from internet and clean like crazy.for more difficult viral infection or root kit troubles you will need a tool called, Windows Defender Offline, and you will have to know how to install and run it from a disk.
GENERAL PURPOSE;
 then i'd say for more general stuff you should try C cleaner too to keep your computer clear of junk/temporary files and to fix Start-up and Registry problems the free-easy way.
CLEAN INSTALL THE OS!
 if all else fails, RUN A CLEAN INSTALLATION OF YOUR COMPUTER'S OPERATING SYSTEM. remember to get flash drives and disks to load all your music-pix-documents onto before the clean install and make triple sure that they are clean of viruses. write down all your account info, log-ins,screen names and passwords for everything so you do not forget. you will not want to save anything to your computer during a clean install or you will risk re-infecting your unit again on the next re-boot.
